Facilities include picnic sites, a standard pavilion, launch ramps and hiking trails. Within the park's environs is the Arkansas Arboretum, a 71-acre site exhibiting examples of native flora representing Arkansas's six natural divisions. Situated below Pinnacle Mountain along the Little Maumelle River, the arboretum includes a .6-mile barrier-free trail.

Located 15 miles east of North Little Rock on Hwy 165. Excavations on the mounds, the remnants of prehistoric ceremonial center, began a century ago. Research at the site continues today and will continue through the century. Guided tours available, handicapped accessible, group rates available.

BOWMAN CURVE / WEST MARKHAM
West Little Rock's trendy new neighborhood offers a wide variety of dining and shopping for all price ranges.
KAVANAUGH BOULEVARD/THE HEIGHTS
This street begins off the 3000 block of Markham Street and winds its way through the Pulaski Heights area. You will find several shopping areas with a "village" atmosphere. Restaurants, boutiques and gift shops, as well as grocery stores and antique shops, are interspersed between housing areas.
LAKEWOOD VILLAGE
Located at McCain Boulevard and Justin Matthews Drive in North Little Rock, this center offers specialty shops, restaurants and movie theaters on a 47-acre site. Frequent entertainment in amphitheater.
MARKHAM AND UNIVERSITY
Two of Little Rock's largest shopping centers are located at this major intersection in West Little Rock: Park Plaza and University Mall. Dillard's and J.C. Penney, and M.M. Cohns department stores are located in these two centers, as well as food courts, sit-down restaurants, specialty shops and entertainment areas.

Shopping centers sit on all four corners of this busy boulevard. McCain Mall is one of the largest enclosed shopping malls in Arkansas, with more than 800,000 square feet.

A 340,000-square-foot, open-air lifestyle shopping center, The Promenade is home to a variety of premier national, regional and local retailers, not to mention a choice of restaurants and entertainment venues. Home to the new Chenal 9 IMAX Theatre, you can witness the world's most stunning feature films in a full-sensory entertainment environment that is second to none.
RIVER MARKET DISTRICT
Located on East Markham Street within walking distance of the downtown convention center you'll find Little Rock's newest shopping area. It features the River Market offering a variety of fresh flowers, unique gifts, groceries and gourmet foods and a Farmer's Market each Tuesday and Saturday spring through fall months. The District also includes the Museum of Discovery, the new main branch of Central Arkansas Library and other shops and restaurants.
RODNEY PARHAM ROAD
Another busy shopping section in West Little Rock can be found west on Rodney Parham Road between Markham Street and 1-430. In addition to shopping centers like Breckenridge Village (which offers a nine-screen movie theater along with stores), there are several smaller centers, such as Trellis Square and Market Place Plaza with exclusive specialty shops to explore.
Highway & Airport Access for Little Rock Metro Area
From Fayetteville, Springdale, Rogers (basically the Northwest corner of the state)
take Highway 71 to I-40, proceed east on I-40 until reaching I-30 at North Little Rock, cross Arkansas River and proceed south to I-440. Take airport exit onto I-440, proceed east and watch for airport exit sign.
From Fort Smith
take I-40 east to I-30 in North Little Rock, follow I-30 south to I-440 and watch for airport exit off I-440.
From Russellville, Morrilton, Conway
take I-40, proceed east to I-30 in North Little Rock, then south on I-30 to I-440 and then to airport exit signs off I-440.
From Memphis, West Memphis, Forrest City and other East Central Arkansas locations
take I-40 west to I-440 and then to airport exits off I-440.
From Jonesboro and other Northeast Arkansas locations
take Highway 49 south to Waldenburg, then to Highway 67 (four lane) into North Little Rock. Off Highway 67, take Memphis exit, which will take you to I-40 east, and then watch for I-440 exit signs. Proceed onto I-440 and watch for airport exit signs.
From Pine Bluff and other south and southeast Arkansas locations
take Highway 65 North to I-440, follow I-440 to airport exit.
From Texarkana and other southwest Arkansas locations
take I-30 to I-440 and then watch for airport exit signs. Note: from Hot Springs, take Highway 70 to I-30 and proceed north to I-440. From I-440 watch for airport exit.
From Harrison, Mountain Home and other North Central Arkansas cities
take Highway 65 to I-40 at Conway, proceed south to I-30 at North Little Rock, cross Arkansas River and proceed south to I-440 and watch for airport exit.
